Yacht Pipit

Has Spring sprung? - 5th February 2017

Across the road from us - lifts the spirits dunnit?

So it's February already? How did that happen... For us 2017 started off as busy as 2016 ended - me working late, and at weekends, Ann (wo)manning the CA stand at the London Boat Show - I thought we were supposed to be retired? Fortunately, we both enjoy what we do - I think it was Marc Anthony who once said 'If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life' - that might be slightly overstating it in our case, but you get my drift...

I have had time for a little visit to our local Alfa/FIAT dealership though...

Very pretty - it's an MX5 underneath...

My kind of boot...

I joined Ann at the London Boat Show for the final weekend, it was good to catch up with a few people and look at a couple of potential Pipit replacements, although we're pretty much decided on that front... We also enjoyed a nice meal at Gordon Ramsay's The Narrow, just a short walk away from CA House in Limehouse. On Sunday morning we took a stroll to Canary Wharf, and the Crossrail Place Roof Garden - a unique haven of peace and tranquility in the middle of a bustling city - or at least it was on a Sunday morning in January.

Closer to home, in between all the working we've managed to get out & about on Minchinhampton Common, and as well as 'meeting' The Black Horse, we also met these:

Alfie.

We've also had some wildlife even closer to home:

Last weekend we had a road trip to Plymouth, via Swindon - as you do... Swindon to collect Pipit's aft cabin door, then Plymouth to collect the aft cabin berth cushions - thanks Simon for storing them for 7 years! We now await Vernon the van man to collect them and reunite them with Pipit in the Ionian.

Six speed gearbox, air-conditioning and nearly as fast as the TGV (see number plate).

And so as February marches on, we are hoping for a slightly less hectic time - time will tell...
